Scottish Students - Claim back Travel Expenses

Scotland more than pay their way in the British economy. In fact, we pay more into it than many parts of England. Ireland receive much more in government 'handouts' than Scotland do, but how often do we hear of that?
Yes, Scottish students so get free tuition but they have to pay the graduate endownment (ie, graduate tax) of roughly £2000 by the end of the financial year they graduate in. They can either pay it off straight, or be like the majority and take out an extra student loan to cover it.
Scottish universities are vastly underfunded because they are not managing to soften the costs of things with tuition fees. Considering that most Scottish students stay in Scotland this does not help their situation.0 -
TBH I can't believe the hypocrisy of that poster considering the post they made before that one on another thread. "How dare these Picts in the North get a benefit for being a student" all whilst saying "and because i'm a student we got a £10k grant for our house"
The fees that were paid for me over four years don't amount to that figure.Bought, not Brought0 -

SNP have abolished the graduate endowment0 -
I'll believe it when I see it. It's not finalised yet and to be frank the SNP have promised a lot of things which they have not delivered, will not deliver and couldn't even if they wanted to.0

Correct me if i'm wrong but don't they get FREE uni Education and now some form of travel expense rebate while us in England who provide the most for the UK economy get naff all.
Well why don't you vote in a semi-decent government, then?0
