Barclaycard £40 off petrol

I recieved a phone call tonight from Barclaycard offering me £40 worth of fuel vouchers if I signed up for a months free trial with a company called Leisure Time.

Anyone know if this is legit?

I had the same offer from Barclaycard through the post some months ago and I can't for the life of me remember what the catch was but there definitely was one.

Maybe someone will be able to shed a little more light.....

Had the same they were staggered vouchers that IIRC just paid the monthly subscription to Leisure Time. Something like £10 a month free petrol, and membership similar.

  • I grilled the woman one the phone but she laughed through all my objections. Not a good sign. I asked for the paperwork before agreeing to anything.

  • Ive got this with bcard last year with £80 of staggered petrol vouchers- £20/ every 3 months

The cost of the leisure time membership is circa £7/ month but i just cancelled after first month for nothing no questions asked.

Just received the £3rd £20, less than one week after sending it off. And will send off 4th voucher in three months time. All in all £80 of free petrol:beer:

No catches as long as you cancel the sub within a month.

Great promo and perfectly legit. We've got 4 different ones running, have never paid a subscription and get the cheques back regularly as clockwork. Just make sure you ring to cancel before the trial period ends; there's no hard sell.

If you haven't had the offer via Barclaycard, here's the direct link:

  • I had the £40 offer for this through the post in December. As there was nothing to lose I signed up. When the vouchers/details arrived it was obviously not a scheme that was of any value to me (nor many other people that I could imagine) so I immediately phoned up to cancel which surprised them as why wouldn't I want to wait to the end of my 'n' (30?) day free trial. Got through the post a formal confirmation of cancellation within a few days too.

Sent off my first £10 petrol claim last week and received the cheque in today's post ie within 7 days! So put the entries in my diary to remember to claim in Apr, Jul and October.

Have to say I don't think too much of their business model as I can only imagine a small percentage of people getting REAL value from their paid subscription and all these marketing £40/£80 payouts must be financed by inertial quarterly subscriptions but in MSE mode it's worth checking out this offer and they appear efficient and the petrol cashback is real and you never know the leisure time vouchers/offers MIGHT be worth it for you (though I wouldn't bank on that bit!).
