Bosch Dishwasher - still REALLY HOT 8 hours after cycle finished!

My reliable Bosch SMS3042 dishwasher was still boiling hot this morning when I went to empty it. The crockery and utensils couldnt be handled -I turned off at the plug and left it to cool down.
I have just dug out my receipts and information on it and it is 16 years old - can't believe it has been so good for all these years.
Does anyone know if it is worth fixing this type of fault - or cut my losses and buy a new one......
