This winter, Fort Lauderdale is bringing some sunshine to rainy Croydon in the form of its Beach on Wheels, a specially made mobile beach complete with models, life guard, deckchairs, and of course plenty of platinum sand. You can see the Beach on Wheels as it cruises around Croydon on Thursday, January 24.
And to celebrate a new, direct flight from Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale on Zoom Airlines, the Croydon Guardian has teamed up with Fort Lauderdale, Zoom and the brand new Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, listed in "100 Best Spas of the World".
Fort Lauderdale is north of Miami on Florida's east coast. It boasts 23 miles of platinum beaches, 3,000 hours of sunshine every year, and average temperatures of 77F. From May 2008, Zoom will offer twice weekly direct flights to the sunshine destination from just £399 return.
Our lucky winner will receive two return Zoom tickets to Fort Lauderdale, along with a week's accommodation at the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort where they can enjoy the setting of South Florida's largest private beach, the luxurious spa, fine and casual dining, and newly-refurbished suites.
