Liverpool Victoria - any opinions?

My local building society, the Ipswich Building Society, is aligned with Liverpool Victoria and sent one of their advisors around to see what I could do with my finances.
I'll all for any free opinions, but just wondered if anyone had any experience of their products and whether they thought they were good/bad/indifferent.
Any thoughts, people?
Thanks

Expensive and why see a tied agent to an insurance company. LV products are available through IFAs and are cheaper. That said, my firm only had one LV sale during 2007 and that was for life assurance. Their investment range is not good enough.
See an IFA. Its cheaper and the IFA will have access to about 38,000 investment funds compared to about 15 from LV.
Plus, tied agents cannot portfolio plan. This is why you see so many bank sold products end up in a single fund. It is documented that you pick the fund (although you can bet your life it doesnt come across like that in discussion). IFAs have to recommend the fund and portfolio and can mix and match.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Thanks for the advice - I'll let him say his piece and then go and see in IFA!0
