Berlin Hotels

Hi all,

I'm hoping that someone out there would be able to help me. I've managed to get some bargain flights to Berlin for OH's 30th from 9th-13th September 08.

Being as MSE as possible I've been looking for hotels but only getting really pricey in city centre. Ideally we want to be as central as possible but basically trying to get as much for my money as I can around the £100.00 each mark - is this impossible??

Many thanks.

  • We were there in December.
The Ibis at Potsdamer Platz was in a great location and wasn't too expensive. I think for 3 nights we paid about 150 euros.
It is central and within walking distance of a lot of the sights. There is an underground station across the road and that will get you to all the furter away sights

charlottenburg is a good location and again has excellent tube links .Sorry i don't know any hotel names as stayed in a youth hostel when i went.
  • I went to Berlin in 2006 and got my hotel through Priceline's 'Name Your Own Price' system - details in THIS post from just after we got back.

I'd recommend doing a search on Venere - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)
PM me if you want a 4% discount code.

I think it's a good idea to check out this website even if you find hotels cheaper elsewhere (also check out hotelscomparison.com), as the descriptions and maps are generally better than other sites in my opinion.

    Hope that helps

PS - I'm not connected to this website in any way, and I don't gain anything from this post. I also found the discount code on another forum.

Not sure whether you mean £100 each for your whole stay or £ 100 each per night. If the former I suggest you try http://www.motel-one.com which has three excellent locations in Berlin.

I hope you have a fantastic time. It is the most amazing city.

Try and get an apratment at the Circus Hostel at Rosenthaler Platz - right in the heart of Mittle, East Berlin, Great views and a better standard of accomodation than many hotels I've stayed in!

I stay there every time I go to Berlin...

Following on from Bruisedknees post, I stayed in one of the Motel One hotels (Alexanderplatz) a few weeks ago for work, it was very nice, but had a wee bit of bother finding it in the dark when I arrived! Hope you find somewhere.
