17 year olds on holiday unaccompanied?

Hiya.
Me and my friends (five of us all together) all want to go on holiday in the UK (East Midland area) this summer time without parents. We will all be 17 by the summer and so we're just trying to work out if we'll be able to go. What is the likeliness of 17 year olds being allowed stay some where without anyone over the age of 18?
Any recommendations of place to stay?
Thanks:T

usually 16 or over is considered an adult so it will probably be ok. if not just lie lol :rotfl:0

You could try one of the Haven caravan sites. When I let out holiday flats there was no way that a group of young people would have been allowed. I know that Butlins won't allow a group under 21. Good luck in your search.Something Really Interesting0

most importantly, take the booze with you. incase ID is required where you are frequenting.:beer:0

in the UK, fairly impossible, as most places dont like groups of under 21s. you could try and book somewhere in 2s, and hopefully the staff dont catch on that you are all together,
camping might be an option, as pitch your own campsites arent usually as strict, but again, too much noise, and they will ask you to leave.
you might have more luck if you can drag along someone over 21?
is it a group of girls or boys? as sometimes they allow mixed groups, but not single sex ones, even if over 21

music festivals are a perfect option for a long weekend getaway, and there are never any limits on ages.. loads of people, loads of stuff to do...
glastonbury - registration is already open, for buying tickets in april
leeds / reading - tickets on sale april ish
latitude..
etc etc.. plenty of choice, plenty of music, plenty of beer, and loads of music and other things to do...0 -
I did this with a few of my friends before being 18 and had no problems whatsoever. A lot of holiday apartments/lets etc may well not do it, but we used Travelodge/Travel Inn and never had any problems. We only did it for weekends though, not surehow cost effective it would be for a week or similar.
Had a quick look at the terms on each site, Travelodge do state you must be 18 years or over, can't see anything obvious in the Premier Travel Inn terms, but I've only skimmed them.
The ironic thing is most tour operators would happily take you abroad!0 -
Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Might be as cheap to go abroad and less hassle on the under 18 thing.
I went away in a group of 17/16 year olds to Ibiza and we even got free child places for the 16 year olds which cut costs considerably!
Depends how cool your mums and dads would be with this, I'm now a parent and theres not a cats chance my Daughter will be off to Ibiza with her friends when she's 16! lolMFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
