From a BT landline, calls to 07973 numbers are charged at fm4 rate (13p/minute peak, 8p/minute evenings/nights and 5p/minute at weekends (all prices incl. VAT). See HERE.

    It's a standard mobile number though so I'd use 18185 myself (5p connection + 6p/minute weekdays, 3p/minute weekends).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • You can call Orange by ringing 0800 100 450 instead of the 07973. You will get through to the same call centre/team

    i hope that helps?

0800 980 1502 also works - however, that may be just for Orange broadband.
  • Yes, I think it is just for broadband......

    For info:

PAYG customers on Orange should use 0800 100 450/451/453
    Contract Customers can use: 0800 100 150/151/153

    Hope this helps someone!
  • Thakyou all for their help,I ended up ringing the mobile rate as I hadnt read the other replys in time. I was very VERY annoyed with them, they cut me off after 20 minutes of getting fobbed off.......letter of complaint on the way to them!

  • Thanks for helping me to decide not to use Orange.

I'm trying to find out detailed information about their tariffs and their website is incomplete. I note someone has given information about a freefone number for customer services but it's not on their site.

I wanted to email them because I have a list of questions, and it would be easier to list them in writing. Unbelievably they don't have one. You either phone them on the toll carrying number they give, or you use snail mail.

Incidentally, I wanted details about download costs on their tariffs because I want a Samsung Omnia, and I'm struggling to find the right deal?

Anyone know who has the best download deals? Web site search engines only give details of bundled minutes and texts usually.
