Rental, is £250 Admin fee too much?

    Letting agents seem to vary a lot. £250 seems high. I saw one place recently where the agent was going to charge £175 on a £350pcm property. The funny thing is that the agent has "for rent" boards up all over the place and seem not to be renting anything out very fast. They phoned me after the viewing to ask if I was interested and I told them straight that I wasn't because thier fee was too high, and they immediately offered to reduce it to £70. So it's well worth trying that and haggling.

    I guess it depends on your area though, on what others charge and how much demand there is for rentals.
