I am afraid there are a number of DCAs of a similiar ilk, so chasing old folk for debts they do not even owe, just because they have a similiar name.

The OFt are consdering removing the licence for at least one of the regulars on here, so please get complaining. List of contacts coming soon.

Hi I have had dealings wth MH. They said i owed £160 to M&S from 88-8-94. I must admit I did have a card with them. Like an idot I offered to pay. But then I asked for confirmation of this debt, agreements etc., which they replied you owe it and havent asked for confirmation etc., after lengthy arguing and me telling them that by law they have to send me copies of all paperwork they have on it, they said they will send it, but will they? I also got onto M & S who have no record of this debt at the address MH quoted. MH got the address wrong for the dates they stated so I asked them for confirmation of address at the time they say. I was infact living at the address they quoted after 94.
I have emailed p mackenzie and await a response and I have a letter ready to go asking for written confirmation agreements etc., to which I will add a £1 po.
M & S have asked me for a copy of the letter that MH sent me which i sent them, you know guys the standard one they send out tracing etc., I rang them from this letter because I thought it was something to do with my aunt. I thought she might have passed away not heard from her since 2000, since parents passed away.
So I admit I was silly there.
Sorry forgot to add M & S have no record of this company and are curious as to what they are up to.
I had never found this site before all this and wish I had.

Where do I stand now? can anyone help.

    I am a newbie. Thanks

Report them to the OFT (and any others you fancy from post 13)

If you want to be generous, tell them you'll report them to the OFT if you don't get a written apology within 7 days.

Check if they're a member of the credit services association and, if so, report this to them also.

This company is the scummiest of all the scum that harass people on this site.

Edit: they are members, see http://www.csa-uk.com/csa/
