Balance Transfer from Abbey to Barclaycard??

I just got a Barclaycard cuase I wanted to take advantage of the balance transfer rate, when I spoke to the lady on the phone she said that she would be unable to transfer my balance from my Abbey Credit card to Barclaycard, as ABBey Santander deal in Euros??? Whats that all about??:money:

I transferred a balance from Abbey/Santander to my Barclaycard Breathe card last month without a hitch, so you may have been given duff information. This happens to us all from time to time.

If possible, I would phone back during normal business hours, when you're more likely to be put through to someone who knows what they're up to.

Of course, things can change over time.
Let us know how you get on.

PS The reason you were given - "Abbey Santander deal in Euros" - is obviously nonsense :rolleyes:

This is driving me mad now, I rang the number on the back of my Abbey Credit card this morning, to make a payment as I have not recieved a statement this month, I got through the automated service and was told my balance and that my minimum payment is due tomorrow.

There is no facility to make a payment with my Abbey Debit card, so I got put through to an advisor, they informed me that I had come through to MBNA and that I should ring Santander?? I informed them that I HAd rang the number on the back of my credit card as it says CUSTOMER SERVICES!!!,no luck however they transfered me to an advisor who hung up on me, as it stands I still have not made a payment this month I will now get charged and Just for the icing on the cake I can confirm that I am unable to transfer my balance to Barclay card as ABBEY Santander deals in Euros and therefor Barclaycard wont touch them, as we speak I am trying to move things from one credit card to another, I basicallY just want everything I owe which is about £5000 onto 1 credit card with 0% interest for 12 months I can get the bulk of it paid off then!!!! HELP!!!
