oooh - I've been there before (but totally forgot about it) - I'll have to go check it out again now.

    Thank you!

A place worth checking out is Greenbank Garden in the Clarkston/Newton Mearns area. We had our pics taken there in Sept 2005 and the place is stunning. You can book it and pay a small donation on arrival of approx £40 which you won't regret for a moment. Follow the link below for info.

I went to an event at the People's Palace and agree it's a fab venue.

If you're set on a castle, friends of mine got married at Doune Castle. There are some really nice places round about the castle for photos. You could then get a village hall for the reception. Best wedding I have ever been to was at Gartmore village hall where they had their own bar and catering. (Rolls in lorne sausage for the evening guests - fab!) That couple got married at a church in Doune.

Ross Priory is a fantastic venue for a wedding on the banks of Loch Lomond. Only 30 minutes from Glasgow centre. Ideal for your numbers although they do their own catering and bar (the prices are very reasonable for what you get!). I've attended a couple of weddings there and they've been great.....until the hangover kicks in the following day!

  • An idea might be Oran Mor in the west end. It's a gorgeous converted church and next to Botanic Gardens as well for photo opps! http://www.oran-mor.co.uk/page/Weddings_148.html

Hi, I think the previous poster is talking about Comlongon Castle in Dumfries. We got married there 2 weeks ago and it was absolutely perfect in every way with lots and lots of lovely photo opportunities!! www.comlongon.co.uk
