Handbag Competition - help me name my shop 2

Hello Girls,
I'm about to start a small business with a friend of mine selling handbags (well, she'll be selling the bags, I'm doing t' interweb), only thing is we are completely stuck for a name for the company .

We've come up with some okay ideas & some naff ones, but if one of us likes one name, the other doesn't.

Can any of you help us think of a great name for our business - were stuck! If you were going to have your own handbag shop what would you call it?


A free handbag (if you want it) will be winging its way to whichever one of you can think up a name that we can use for our business!!

My best idea was Bag Puss (picture the words in pink under a stylised picture of a handbag) but I'm a bloke & I was told that was rubbish. I'm sure someone can do better

Just a few words of advice first (I hope you don't mind)

It sounds like you're doing this as a partnership(as opposed to a Ltd Co.)
I would check the name you eventually choose on the companies house website, as if you do decide to go Ltd and the name is already in use it could cause you a whole host of problems and cost you revenue in the longrun.

Also when you think of a name you need to keep copyright laws in mind (Bag Puss is an excellent idea ....but you may find youself in hot water with the "Bagpuss"
brand iyswim)

Also check the domain hasn't been used

I wish you the very best in your new venture .....running your own company is such hard work, especially in the first year.......but it's worth it .

It's probably rubbish but if I had a handbag shop I'd call it 'Necessaries', so my customer's would never feel guilty about shopping there!

Ohh I would love to own a bag shop...... I wouldnt make much money though as would have to use them all. :rotfl:

Another thought,

If it's a web based company, it's worth keeping in mind the way people use the web (ie searching shopping sites, google etc) and think about the keywords they'lll use to search.


It's a very competitive market........and well worth paying a graphic designer to get your logo(branding) just right.......keep this in mind when choosing a name.
