Ham Hock - Week and a half old

I was in the butchers the weekend before last and bought a bacon hock, because it was a quid! Plans of pea and ham soup were on my mind. Anyway, stuck it in the back of the fridge, ate the saussages, bacon, chicken and lamb and forgot about the hock.
Do you think it will still be ok? I think it was cooked when I bought it.

SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"

I personally would not eat it, but I am very wary about old food (dodgy tummy) some might eat it if it smelled ok, but not me.0

sniff it. if it's off after a week then it will definately smell bad. if it smells ok i would risk it and cook it. have done before and lived0

Right I'll give it a sniff and see. Not noticed any pongy smells in the fridge so it might be alright.SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0

Chilled food does tend not to pong as much, personally I'd leave it out of the fridge for an hour or so then sniff it. Depends how fresh it was in at the butchers as to if it will be ok.
Right this is what I would do - smell it after it's been out of the fridge, if it smells ok cook it, if it smells ok when cooked taste it, if it's nice eat it all
Of course as all advice on a forum, this is what I would do and you need to decide what is safe for your family. One day I might be more organised...........
