Hi All
I am about to move jobs and will loose my company car, having test driven many different cars i've settled on a Honda CRV 2.2 diesel ES now i need to finance this and am unsure which is the most cost effective way of doing this, does anyone have any experience of the various different options available ?
Any pointers you can give me would be really helpful.

If you really must go down the finance route then I'd recommend an unsecured personal loan and locate the relevant section on this website or look on moneysupermarket. Get a flexible one and you can make over payments to get shot of it even earlier. Ignore the repayment insurance that's a big no no. They're usually a lower APR than car finance co.s, aren't tied to the car (so won't show on HPI check when you come to sell) and will give you great flexibility should you wish to change your car in the future. Failing that use the loan rates quoted to negotiate a better deal with a specialist car finance firm. Good luck!

Additional - I'm sure (if you can stand the effort), you could try to wing a 0% rate on your finance by playing the credit card stoozing game and transferring balances.

Good advice there but there might be good deals on leasing. You really need to get the old speadsheet going though to work it all out.

Also check for low finance rates from manufacturer.

Personally I would get a cheap lease deal to look at then work out all the other options from there (remember all road fund tax is normally included). Short leases are good if you like a new car every yea or so but are probably not great if you do high mileage or plan to stick with a car for a long time.
  • If you are considering leasing the http://www.carpricechecker.co.uk/lease/ is really good for a comparison website or the company I use for leasing is Total Fleet Services they have always been really good and I have used them for years now. http://www.lease-hire.co.uk
