Is this quote for painting doors good!

Hi

I have been quoted £65 a door and the door surround to paint in either oil eggshell or satinwood. They are paneled internal doors.

This includes rubbing down, primer and top coat.

But does not include materials.

Is it good or shall I get some more quotes?

I think its far too high, it also depends if he has loads of doors to do as well.

For example, if he was doing an average 7 -10 doors in a house, then he would prep and undercoat,so he could the lot and frames in one day.
Come back the next day, sand again, and do 1 coat of satin, and come back the next day and do the same.

So your talking 3 days, but if he is just coming in to do the odd door, then he has to take into account going all the way to your house, then perhaps going onto another job after.

Personally, as a decorator myself, I do think its too high just for A DOOR.
I can do a 6 panel door in approx 10-15 mins, so with the frame, another 5-10, including the prep and sheeting up around the door, say 30 mins per door just to be on the safe side, he's on an earner at £65 per door lol

How many doors are they?

If you lived near greater london, I would give you a quote, and I always supply the undercoat and satinwood in with the price.:D
