I bought soda crystals today and will be sprinkling them in about 10 minutes.
Will update in 2 days as to the result!

I knew MSE wouldn't let me down
We have awful moss problems - we pressure-washed last year, but it only held it at bay for a few months. I've also since been told that pressure-washing can actually increase the rate of growth - something to do with roughing the surface and giving the algae more footholds - judging by the amount we have right now compared to last year, I can see the possibility of it being true.

Put some soda crystals down during the snow on friday, and brushed them today and the algae is gone.
