My boiler has broken down & it will cost £200 to repair (£100 parts & £100 labour).

My dad told me about British Gas Homecare Flexi:

http://www.britishgas.co.uk/products-and-services/maintenanace-and-breakdown-care/homecare-flexi-100.html

It is £11 per month plus £50 per repair plus £40 Quidco. It also includes an annual safety check.

Has anyone got any experience of this service? Is it any good? Do they cover existing faults?

Any feedback would be much appreciated :)

Hi, I have there standard cover and have used it quite a lot. I would not be without it now, you never know when you will need it.

Regarding the above, don't think they will cover existing faults?

Thanks! I couldn't see that in their t&c.

They do offer a one off repair for £198. I will get a few quotes from local plumbers & if I can't find anything cheaper, I will go with them.

I have now found that Domestic & General offer boiler cover for £10 per month. This seems much more reasonable to me. They don't do a service inspection & cover starts 30 days after you pay. I think I can cope until then as my problem is that the hot water only works when the central heating is on.

Does anyone have experience of Domestic & General?
