..... seem to be falling out of the sky of late......
 Empire State tip.......
Either visit late in the day and wait for it to go dark or go twice. once in the day and again at night.
The difference at night is amazing, well worth it.
If you have a relo in a wheelchair, take them with you and jump ALL the queues.0

            Hi,
I would definitely recommend booking a meal at The View restaurant. It's a revolving buffet restaurant in the Marriott Marquis Hotel situated on 45th street & Broadway. The view of the skyline is fantastic & well worth a visit (we went here for Christmas Lunch).
Also for the BEST steak you'll ever have in your life go to Sparks Steakhouse which is situated on east 46th street between 2nd & 3rd avenues. Me & my OH had steaks & jacket potatoes & they were the best I've ever had - so scrummy!

If you go to Customer Services in Macy's you will get a discount after showing your passport - I think this works in Bloomingdales too.0

We mentioned at our hotel, The Metro, that we were going to Macy's and we were given a leaflet as an "introductory shopper" that gave us 11% off any purchases for five days. - effectively means you don't have to pay the extra taxes (gov't and state) on top of the ticket price.0

            Just returned from NYC:
 Statue of liberty:
Plan for the trip to be at least a WHOLE HALF DAY if you want to go inside the statue (IMHO not worth it).
The security is so OTT it's a JOKE.
You can book the ferry on-line, catch the earliest one from battery park.
 Cost about $10 return each.0
