TV Aerial Problems

For some reason the aerial into the house seems to have stopped working. We can't get any TV channels with a decent picture. We've been having slightly blurred (not quite as crisp) pictures (not quite as crisp) for a few days and tonight when I got home from work I can't get any picture. We have one external aerial. It leads into the main living room and into the NTL box. It also has a booster on it for the other rooms which are also not getting any tv picture. The only room which is getting a picture is the dining room. I think that leads down a different wire, although from the same aerial (but I'm not sure about that). I've changed the fuse in the booster but that's not worked and we've also tried taking the end off the aerial lead and re-wiring that. Does anyone know what else we could try. If not can anyone recommend an aerial engineer in the Bolton area.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks

SOunds like water might have got into the wire (happened to my neighbour, who only narrowly avoided a nasty electrical fire when the water reached her TV!) Check your local free paper for aerial engineers, and ask how much their call out fee is before you ask them to come - some are extortionate! We found a good one in our area who only charges if he can do the repair.

Plug the lead from the aerial directly into the tv - avoiding the NTL box and the booster.
If you get a good picture now, then there is nothing wrong with the aerial and downlead. You need to suspect something else in the chain - the NTL box or the signal booster.
    HTH.
