Hey.
I wish to speak to my friend who lives in the US. We speak *alot*, 3 hours a day usually, but phone bills are not our bestest friends, if you catch what I'm throwing.
So my friend discovered this website: http://www.nobelcom.com/nobelcom/jsp/productselection/productselection.jsp?from_country=1&to_country=289&x=59&y=20
Long link, sorry. It claims to offer 2,200 minutes for $20, which is 36 hours. That's chump change to both of us really, but I'm wondering if this is the best offer?
We are looking for cheap, but with the most minutes possible. Ideally, I'd like to be the one paying for the cards, which is why I ask all you UK fellows.
So, what's my options?

Don't worry the displayed link gets truncated.
The card you mention has a maintenance fee of 99c per week and charges an extra 1c/min if you use an 1800 access number, otherwise you have to add on the cost if any of calling their other access number.
For you in the UK you if you have a BT landline you could use https://www.18185.co.uk who charge 0.5p / min to the USA.
You could use VoIP for example Vyke charges just 4 US Cents per call from the UK to the USA and the same for the USA to the UK. Means either using their soft-phone and PC or VoIP equipment connected to a router so you can make calls without the need of the PC.
http://www.justvoip.com/en/index.html gives you 300 mins of free calls per week for a 10 Euro top up, free days last for 120 days, you can either top up again or use up the 10 Euros at 1c/min, after 300 free mins you pay 1c/min. This uses software on your PC.
VoIP requires broadband.
If you both had broadband you could both use VoIP and talk for free. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
There's also CheapestChat who charge 0.4p/min. Check out the international callchecker for more details.0

However you have to call an 020 access number, so unless you get inclusive calls you have to add on the cost of calling the 020 number. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... In that case try reading International Calls: Cheapest way to call every country & Home Phones: The UK's Cheapest Calls Provider.
Or you could call in the evening if you are with BT if it's appropriate.0
