Extremely expensive way to do it though!!!

IMO if you're that much of a slave to Microsoft, you deserve the ugly boxes that run it!!!

Not really, a basic Core 2 Duo MacBook isn't that pricey, yet it's a fast machine. Add in a XP or Vista licence, and not much different between than and a good quality PC laptop from Sony. It's important for speed comparisons too in the comparitive tests.

A slave to Microsoft?!! Some software just isn't available on the Mac, so why shouldn't they have the option to run it on various items of hardware?

Presumably you don't think only people who drive a petrol car can have a nice looking car, and everyone who drives a diesel should have an ugly one??!

What software doesn't have a Mac equivalent (not version ;))??

I'll wait for Ferrari, Lambourghini and Aston Martin to bring out diesels before answering that!

Lots of games don't have a mac equivalent

I presume you don't like the new V12 diesel version of the Audi R8 then?;)

Incidentally people may prefer to install a version of windows as Leopard has not been without it's problems either.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Hundreds of applications. Outlook very important to corporate customers, the Entourage equivlent isn't the same. Access a crucial database for complex small company systems and a front end to large SQL Server systems. Never been available on the Mac for various reasons cited by Microsoft. A large amount of development software including Visual Studio...

Well Aston Martin's owners have been producing them for years. Presumably you drive one of those three?! And therefore are discouting top end Mercs, BMWs, Audis, Range Rovers, Alfa Romeo and the like - prestige brands rather than footballers cars?! ;)

    download them then.

every OS will have its problems, but NONE as great as the trash that is windows.

I love the direction this has taken :j

Everyone likes different things, cars, computers, OSes etc. Surely having the choice to install what you want is important, and will boost Apple's market share, which is a good thing?

I don't have time to research it now, but as I'm married to a SQL database expert (and certified DBA) with a huge and varied client base, none of whom use Access, I'd assume there are (better) alternatives. OH doesn't run windows on any machine, and his business partners also operate on macs without windows.

I don't use Entourage - Mail works for me (and is much better than the Outlook I'm forced to use on my crappy Dell work pc)

I don't (unfortunately). And they don't make a diesel version of my car.

I wouldn't consider driving a diesel till they make one that sounds like a proper car. ;):p

As a car the R8 is gorgeous, but there is no way it could sound (or smell) as fabulous as the petrol version

IMV, yes and no. Good for Apple, but possibly bad for consumers. As they move from niche, professional product towards the more mass produced market, standards could drop in terms of manufacturing, customer service and attention to detail.

I've been a Mac user since I was 3. I wouldn't wanna see Apple become anything like Dell :(

Well you asked for examples and games are the classic one. BTW the diesel R8 has better acceleration than the perol one.
