littlehousecompany.co.uk - any comments?

Am looking for a net based alternative to the estate agent mafia and have come across this company:

Is there any experience of them out there? Any similar/better operations people know of?

    Hi

I will be watching this thread with interest as I was Googling such sites tonight. We need to sell our property and are considering an alternative to Estate Agents.

Are they as good as they claim? Do they get the interest they claim? Are there any drawbacks?

Any advice from people who have used (or steered clear of) these sites would be appreciated.

Lots of board members have used them. Maybe do a forum search. The most important thing is that you get onto rightmove.co.uk which is the biggest property portal going.

Floorplans and as many photos as you like, we've used them once to sell and twice to let property.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • I agree - make sure you get on rightmove
  • Right - except, quite frankly, it sounds like you're having to pay a poorly disguised £500 bribe for the privilege.

I would have thought that between £100 and £200 is quite enough to pay to gain what is after all a short term, one page 'profile' type entry on a website. Plenty of other websites - dating agencies etc - seem to manage this either for free or for far, far less than what housenetwork want.

This is a good illustration of the benefits of the internet not being allowed to filter through to the general punter and middlemen making an undue, entirely disproportionate killing.

The reason HN are more expensive is that they do not just offer a short term, one page 'profile' type entry on a website. They are the cheapest route to Rightmove and the fee reflects this.
  • And a one page 'profile' is all that Rightmove are, let's be honest...

... and to get to them you have to go through the middleman, naturally.

After all, this is the UK...

Like it or not, RM is the vast majority's first port of call so the cheapest route there is going to be the most effective way to market your property IMO
