i have been on STP for aages, but admit I don't use it that regularly - i logged on yesterday and was at two stars, 10 minutes later i was on one!! i read on this forum that sometimes this happens and it sorts itself the next day? but logging on today, i still only have one star...

    my scouting profile is...
    stars - 1
    reviewed - 107
    accuracy - 92.18%

can anyone help at all please??

how many hours would you have to listen to and review to earn £5?

depends - if you average 5p per song that's 100 songs to earn £5

if you assume 3 minutes per song on average, that's 5 hours of music - not all of it good - to earn £5

add in the amount of time you'd need to write your reviews and have a break here and there and i'd say that would push it up to 6 hours.

S the P has its problems

for promotion there is a new company call CueTracks out that sends your music to hundreds of industry contacts such as record labels, DJs, magazines, management companies, gig bookers, music journalists and many many more,

your music is reviewed and commented upon by these industry tastemakers and if they like it they can get in contact with you!

    Check it out at

    Cheers,

  • Why am I still earning voucher money I want to earn real paypal money, I reached my first v£5 and invested it now go to another £5 still not letting me transfer because its voucher money. I only hae 5p of real money that was after I invested my firsr £5. You dont just get 5p for every £5 you invest do you? If you do I have wasted so long.

You have to be on at least 3 stars to earn real money. To get to 3 stars you will have to have a good spread in your ratings, write lengthly good quality reviews and maintain a good accuracy. I've been everything from a 1* to a 5* scout under the new algorithms, if you get a sequence of really good tracks one after the other and rate them all high then you may well end back up at 1*. I find the best thing to do is rate honestly and not to bother about your stars, just concentrate on giving accurate helpful reviews and you soon find that you're on at least 3 stars. There's more money to be made in the trading section anyway, so if you're over 18 and UK based you can make a lot more money with the vouchers than through scouting (unless you sell your contracts for less than the voucher investment).

I've just joined this site today and I love it, my brother is a professional scout with his own label so its nice to be paid for what I do for him anyway. Do they penalise for spelling mistakes or bad grammer does any one know, cos mine can sometimes be rubbish.

They say they check the quality of reviews but I don't think that's the case. If the artists can understand what you're saying it's fine

I havent been back on here for a while as most my time online is on STP and checking up on investments that i have made, I went from MSE to STP in the effort to make money, I stayed for the music that may sound a bit corney but its true, there is a lot of good music and a lot of good banter on the forums. it now has its own dedicated fansite which is really useful for newer scouts (piewatch). i would say that if you are on 5p a track (a you will go up to 7p and 10p on occasions) that if you are quick you could cover £5 in just over 2 hours. ( there was a scout room that paid 15p per track adn 10p per track in vouchers). its not the best site if you are just looking to make money but if you fancy investing (or trading) there is potential that you could get bigger returns on your cash. it is fun though sometimes can be a bit like banging your head against a wall, but you do get some gems. plus once you invest £5 in an artist you get a digital copy of hte album when released and the option of a tradable contract per £1 you invest. The forums are a bit on the quiet side at the minute, what with the schools off.Give it a week and earn enough in vouchers to invest for a free album, if you dont like it after a week, well you havent lost anything except a bit of time.
