Vauxhall cars - country of origin.

Does anyone know where Vauxhall manufacture their cars.

I think the new Vectra is made at Ellesmere port on the Wirral and the new Zafira is made in Gliwice, Poland or Bochum, Germany.

What about other models in the range?

If possible I want to buy a car that is made or assembled in the UK.

The Vectra is now made in russelheim in germany, the Astra is the only model now made in ellesmere port on the wirral, the corsa is made in zaragoza in spain, the corsa van in portugal,

The vectra was made in ellesmere port alongside the astra until about a year ago but there is a lot of demand for the new astra so in order to meet that demand we became a one car factory again.

Thanks, I like the new Astra - will take a look. Though I thought the Zafira might offer more options for the volunteer driving I do and for the family plus baggage. Is the new Astra available in estate variant? And do they still make that in Germany?

New shape Astra looks TOTALLY impractical, as estate. Especially when you consider how good the old one was.

Have you seen NEW Zafira? It's more than a 'new' front! Much has been improved inside, too!!
