telly-addict wrote:Thanks again. Current filter simply says "Speedtouch ADSL filter" - any ideas for a better filter? Presumably daisy-chaining is putting 2 filters together? Where's the best/cheapest place to get a decent filter?
I normally get filters from small local electrical shops rather than the large stores like b&q and would normally pay about £3-£4. Put it on the socket where the sky+ is connected
You're right about the daisy chaining, just plug one into the other, might help reduce noise from the sky+ box0 -
Sky engineer coming out on Friday to check if there is a problem with the new box. Will let you know the outcome. Thanks for all the comments.0

Dial-up problem now sorted. The Sky engineer tried various different leads and connections. Eventually tried a different model of Sky+ box and this resolved the problem.
Changed the PACE box for an Amstrad one and all now working fine.
Thanks again for all the suggestions.:beer:0 -
ah.. so that whats solves it.. when we had a Pace box installed over xmas.. excatly the same problem..
in fact we could hear an audible noice on the phone line when the sky was plugged in..
We had two sky enginners out.. a ordinary one and an "expert". (LOL).. so i helped him diagnose the problem (LOL) and eventualy he admitted it was their box causing the noice/interfearance.
He then got us special excemption not to have the sky box connected to the phone line.
Maybe its a feature of some pace boxes....The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary…
