how long do mint balance transfer 0% deals last?

im not exactly sure when i got my mint card.. my first statement is dated 22nd december and im guessing i recieved the card a week or so before that...

i think there is a 6 week cut off point in which i can use the 0% balance transfer offer amd im thinking that might have passed now... i tried to figure it out in my online account or just at the mint site but couldnt...

i thought the fee was 2.5% but it seems to have gone up to 2.9%... did i get it wrong or has it changed? and which will i be paying?

help! i want to do a balance transfer right now but think i might have blown it.......

Probably would be easiest just to contact Mint to get a definitive answer.

I had a similar thing with barclaycard, I just missed the 2 months cut off for balance transfers and they flat out refused to give me one. So, I went and got another card (Mint, funnily enough) and called to cancel the Barclaycard...they put me through to the cancellations department who said that they would do the transfer for me anyway. I said that it was too late, that I'd already sorted something else, then she offered to cancel the transfer fee too.

So threatening to quit might be a good way of getting them to do it, even if they say they can't initially...

    edit: oops, too late.

thanks for that info though! i was thinking something like that might work if i needed it... they'll usually change their rules if it means they get some of your money...

im still not convinced the guy i was talking to is right... would love to hear from other mint card users that what he told me is correct!
  • Hi there I think you've got the "6 weeks" from 0% on purchases, that's where you are getting the confusion.
    Hope this helps:D

You threatened to cancel the card and they offered you a 0% balance transfer, interesting . . .

    ah! that's probably it, thanks!

anyone know what the mint site is taking about when it asks if i have a 'prommotional code' when on the balance transfer page of their website? do i have to enter a code here to get the 0% deal i have? or is there something extra i can get with the right code..?

Not only that, but the lesser-spotted "fee free" 0% balance transfer, too!
