    Hi.
I have tried 2 Stanley ones - they were both pretty useless. They take alot of calibrating and only telll you if electricity ot metal or studs are in the rough vacinity (ie neighbourhood !)

    I took mine back.

Let me know if you find a good one.

I saw several in my local Focus (cheap B&Q type thingie?) yesterday. Ranged from £9.99 up. Don't know if they're any good though and didn't buy one myself as I want to find one cheaper :)

I have a Draper model ... my second and be very happy with both.

They are not a set it and forget it tool. They need to be calibrated every time they are used. Take care, takes a few seconds, and you'll find it invaluable.

Got my last one from Amazon which was cheapest/least hassle at the time because of free postage.
