Automatic Sites

Options
I am looking into getting a car as we may be moving further out of town and for social use, I will need to be able to travel independently. I am looking for an automatic, either on HP or leasing.

Can anyone recommend sites?

New or second hand? What size of car? etc.

Do you need a warranty or want to pay dealers prices for peace of mind?

Preferably something nearly new / used depending on cost

    Would like peace of mind.

Something small such as a Peugeot 206 / Ford KA / Toyota Yaris etc...

The Ford Ka is manual only. The current Yaris is available with a Multi-Mode Transmission (a clutchless manual) which some people find hard to get used to.

What do people think about the Nissan Micra (new shape)?

The Micra is very good. I bought one for my Dad in November for £6995, 05 56, 9,000 miles, 1.4 automatic. The ride is comfortable and suits his driving and the power steering is light. Looks weird though!

How about the Misubushi "i" it looks strange but fantastic MPG and cheap tax.

i have an automatic 1.2 micra and love it.
    lots about and reasonably priced.
(go for 1.4 if you are going to carry a lot of weight around though)

do not go for clutchless manuals (mmt or vvt)- there are many problems with this and they are as hard to drive as manuals.( i had one that died on me just after coming out of warranty)

Yeh, I am swaying towards a Micra. Good prices and lots around. Not too big, not too small. Thanks!
