Cherryade on carpet disaster!!

Hi guys,
Wondered if anyone could help me with a bit of an unfortunate situation. I knocked a glass of cherryade on my girlfriends carpet on Sunday night. Despite trying to treat it (salt, lemonade, carpet cleaner, carpet vac) it has stained. My girlfriend currently pays £15/month house insurance. She doesn’t want to claim as she says her premiums will go up etc.
The carpet will cost me £300 - £400 if I buy one new. Would it be better to claim?
All suggestions welcomed
Phil

What kind of carpet is it? (age, material, colour, depth of pile, type of pile) You may be able to get the stain out still, I wouldn't give up yet.0 -
I wouldn't claim for something like that....similar happened to friends and their insurance co just paid out for a rug to cover it! We had a plate of hot spag bol dropped on our light carpet 2 years ago. Insurance paid for Chem Dry to remove the mark ( to my surprise,it did come out-I'd tried everything myself with no joy!). We had to pay £70 excess and next year the premiums mysteriously went up..and couldn't change Ins. companies easily as due to timing of renewal date, the claim was still outstanding.
Wish I'd just got Chem Dry out myself.0 -
Didn't even know Chem Dry existed mate. Will give them a ring on my dinner break.
Much appreciated
