you can actually review the short tracks, but it's a bit up in the air at the moment because we're just trying to decide what the rating should be, so nobody is being told how to do it.

The player tool won't release the rating slide or edit box until at least 60 seconds of the song have played.

yeah, i can and so can some other people. but it's being kept quiet for now really as it's being used more to point the songs out to STP so they can remove them.

I'm also wondering what you guys write in your reviews... most of the stuff I get to listen to is utter rubbish to me. I wonder why they make me listen to all the stuff I HAVEN'T ticked as being interested in? It's really hard to be objective when you would normally turn the dial immediately if this came on the radio! LOL
Wouldn't it make more sense to let you scout stuff that you're familiar with and actually have something constructive to say about?

a very common question for newbie joanne. what i always say is imagine you're talking to a friend about a new song you've heard. what would you say?

you'd say something like "Ohh, i heard this really good song the other day. It had a really catchy beat to it and i really liked it - it made me want to tap my feet along to it."

something like that - just describe how you feel about the song and if you feel it would be popular. you don't have to write an essay about it, just around 4 or 5 lines at most.

That feature doesn't work. You may tick the boxes of genres you like, but you'll still get a random selection of songs. it's not been switched on yet.

i do agree though that it's not fair to review a genre you might not particularly like because it's not fair to the artist.

i've seen one review on the site that said something like "well i don't really like rap, so this isn't something i'd normally listen to, so it's not very good" and they rated it a 4 out of 10. I really thought that wasn't fair at all.

The best thing to do is if a song comes on that you don't like, just reload the scout room - refresh your browser and another song will load.
