  • Oh yeah, I think its silly too. There could be an amazing band out there who deserve 8s and 9s but if people are too scared to give them because of their accuracy than Slice the Pie could miss out.
  • I do think that if we hold out long enough we will see some change....

Saying that though think people must be moving away from the 4-6 thing, i've given out loads above and below that and according to facebook my accuracy has gone up. who knows eh? but the sonner they get a better system for this malarkey the better!!

dear god how many mediocre indie tracks can i manage in one day!? bring back the one man and his guitar tracks, lol!

  • I'm beginning to think I am expecting way too much from this.....I've just been through all the previously finaced artists who, are good. But I didn't listen to more than one of their songs each because nothing made me want to :( I'm thinking maybe im getting too old, maybe I've got to that stage where no new stuff can really beat what I already love! Unless of course it is really original...I have probably heard like 2 bands who I would go out of my way to hear more of....out of 200 tracks. It's not that I don't like new sounds....I do, but only different ones....I really dont know if it is me or STP....

It is probably the same for my rents when I put my music on, they'd rather just turn it off and put on some Stone roses or bob dylan. I hear most of this stuff and I want to turn it off and stick something old on!

    I'll be going grey next!
  • Well, its because they're not asking you for just your personal opinion, you're supposed to consider whether it would sell records as well. A scout in the real world might see a band that they personally think are derivative rubbish, but still sign them up because they think they'll sell.

One look at the top ten tells me that ;)
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

    There's a top 10?
  • Sorry if this has been asked before, but how do I see my accuracy?

    Accuracy is rubbish.

Accuracy is how well you match up to how other scouters have rated on the stars for the tracks. So to get the best accuracy you gotta be voting like everyone else.....safe bet, vote between 4-6. Saying that you will get told off for doing so.

Best plan: Ignore it, the whole system needs revamp because it just doesnt make sense, you can write great reviews and mark accoring to how good you think the track is-but if it doesnt match the majority then you are fooked as far as accuracy is concerned...

My advice-don't go into Slice for the money! A paper-round pays more. But go into it if you are into music and upcoming/unsigned talent and..... sod the accuracy! saying that good accuracy does just come to some people, but I wouldn't suggest trying to cheat it to anyone.

Agree, the only way the accuracy part can actually be fixed is if they open up seperate scout rooms for every genre.......rock, rap, dance, country etc Then people who are actually into those genres, the ones that would potentially spend their money on those artists would be the ones giving the valuable personal reviews. There is no way a system in which your guessing what other people might think is ever going to work.

I mean if you dislike trance/drum and bass for example & never listen to it on the radio or pay attention to it anywhere, how the hell are you going to have ANY IDEA what the hell is and isnt marketable?? lol You dont listen to what is marketable so you have no basis for comparison. Same applies to people that dislike any genre.

The majority that choose what music is or isnt good is always formed by personal opinions, how can anyone determine what is or isnt good when everyone is guessing what eachother thinks. Theres no truth to it atall & its rubbish. :rotfl:
