Thanks for the understanding - I'm not sure how many tracks I do each day. I try to do them in blocks of 10-20 and carry on as late as I can into the night bearing in mind that if I get too tired my review quality suffers. Maybe 20 on a weeknight, 100+ over a weekend. I have so much else to do as my partner has mental health troubles and mainly I feel like a single parent must but with 2 small and 1 very big child to look after - as well as hold down the day job. I find MSE has been a lifeline to me. Without it I'd be in a much worse hole than now and it has saved me a fortune. I've learnt so much that I'd never have otherwise - like STP, never heard of it except here - joined up and have done ok. Some of these boards are like little web communities and so much more friendly than that other board whos name shall not be written down here, they can be fierce and cruel! I just keep plugging away. Now if only I could persuade the one upstairs to extend the day to 30 hours, maybe I could make some real progress.0

the last 20 songs or so ive reviewed i havn't scored less than 7 apart from 1 which i gave 5.
i think the scout room is going to close as all the songs on there are really good?
they are probably trying to get last reviews for the best artists...
anyone else getting only amazing songs?????0 -
Hey Jim
Ya post made a lot of sense. If i force myself to look back a few years a iremember bein' a guitarist in a rock band, every member had a different style and in fairness we were god awful lol (yet somehow rock gods in our own minds) Managed to play one big gig before it all crumbled and the reviews seemed harsh..but totally justified in hindsight.
In that sense i have some experience in playin' an instrument so i can comment on that but with so many genres to cover and recordin' techniques i don't really have the technical say so to fairly critique so i try to be a smart !!! (that, i can do) and just say what i feel or how the track makes me feel. If they wanted really technical reviews they'd stay within the industry instead of joe public right?
There are some real gems on there, had a group called Dirty Demographics earlier with 'heavier things'...its kinda jazz and not my gig at all but seriously love it...someone else has gotta have heard it.
Hmmm..i should be scoutin'0 -
I like to read about people scouting through the day
even though i work from 9-5 and can only scout in the evenings
Jim i understand your situation although mine isnt as stressfull i imagine as yours, mum mum has chrohns disease and colitis and she recently had an operation so i'm mum of the house because she can't do that much and my sister is always off with hr bf and just can't be bothered to help

Little more life in it yet. You'll know when its close to ending because
1) you'll see that that the track has been reviewed by (X) number of scouts after you send your review. Last room was something like 40+ reviews each.
2)The tracks will start breaking down and you'll time up a good review, send it and it wont go through - you get a 1 word message, something like "undefined" or the like, instead of the message about how many others have scouted the song.0 -

Good morning/afternoon everyone - first post
.
I've been floating about the MSE forums for about a week now, usually for the bargains hehe but this SliceThePie thing is mint, I'm a DJ and I love listening to music anyway and this is just such a great tool. Only done about 16 songs at the moment (since last night) but just wanted to say hi and join in the conversation heheh

Afternoon everyone! Hope everyone is doing well with the challenge and in life in general. (Is there a life away from MSE?:rotfl: ) My accuracy rating is rubbish and I'm way down on the list for scout positions...oh well, aother 6p extra in my pocket makes all the difference
Glad to see so many new people finding us in here and joining in with the challenge.0
