The 75 has a 3" display, a touch control dial and a few other extras.
Use this link from Canon to compare the two: http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/Digital_Camera/IXUS/index.asp0 -
Cheers.
From that comparison the ONLY difference I can see are indeed the 75 has a 3" screen the 70 only a 2.5". The 70 has a viewfinder.
The 75 has two extra shooting modes being Portrait and Night Snapshot.
That's about it.0 -
If you are going to buy, check the US prices, about 30% cheaper !
As the above have commented, not a great deal of difference and the 70 is cheaper.0 -

Better to buy in the UK IMO - compare prices at https://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk for the best price of your chosen camera.
No grey imports, and no warranty issues - unlike buying from USA or Hong Kong.0 -
The Canon Outlet, the official and exclusive Canon-branded web reseller, is operated by Digital River. at http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Canon-Outlet but nothing but EOS 350/400D's at the moment. They usually have some bargains have look in the feedback for typical prices

The 70 is smaller aswell.
Also I have my 70 in my hand right now, and it does have The Night Snapshot and portrait modes. So don't listen to the person above.
So basically the 75 has a 3.0" screen.
The 70 has a 2.5" screen and a viewfinder and is a bit thinner and looks more sleek(less chunky). Personally I much prefer having the option of a viewfinder for bright conditions.

Both are the same software wise, the 70 is pretty robust aswell, with metal casing, also you see the slidy switch on top of the 75, well thats on the back of the 70 and its much easier to do, can do it with your thumb whilst holding the camera with one hand.0 -
I agree with Theronkinator above, an optical viewfinder is sadly lacking in a lot of modern cameras, and having seen my friend's Sony thrown aside in disgust on a bright sunny day, I consider it an ESSENTIAL !
Amazon UK are doing the 70 for £120 or thereabouts, cheapest I could find before going to the US.0 -
£117.95 from AJ Electronics is listed the cheapest for the 70 on http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod344.html

i've got the Ixus 75... just to let you know, i'm not happy with the picture quality at night, plus the flash isn't very good.
i wouldn't buy an Ixus if i could choose my camera again.0
