in Credit cards
Hi,
I have a maxed-out CapitalOne card with £2,800 owing. The interest is extortionate and I can only just pay slighty above the required monthly payments.
I've already tried applying for a Visa card with a lower interests from my own bank , but was refused.
I'm assuming I'm not credit-worthy enough to obtain another card - let alone a 0% one anywhere else.
Can anyone suggest any other possibilities?
TIA,
Tim

What sort of APR is on your Capital One card? You could consider a personal loan from a compnay who specialise in 'non perfect' credit histories, but this may well be a higher APR than your card, and thus not worth it.
Which banks have turned you down?
:rolleyes:0 -

Thanks for the suggestion. It's worth a try. I'll check their interest rates (and repayment options).

I don't know if this is helpful to you but I have been looking to change credit card to another 0% (as I am a TART!) and from one of Martin's suggestions I tried for a NatWest although it has a handling fee of 2.5%. It is online application and you get an immediate yes or no - I applied a couple of days ago and today I received the PIN number with credit card to follow shortly. Worth a try?0

I appreciate the suggestion. But if I've been refused a VISA card and a loan by my own bank, I don't think it looks too promising
Cheers,
