Be careful about that- a guy managed to run up a 30k phone bill doing this because he didn't know he was going outwith the fair usage policy on the internet allowance

Thanks for the warning but just read through terms and conditions and kept a copy of the following :

We will let you know by text message once you have reached the fair use limit and ask you to cease using the included data services for the remainder of the month. If you continue to use the services we may suspend your data usage until the next month. This will not impact your access to other X-Series services.

I also got this error message when trying to setup my zte mf622 to use three mobile broadband for the first time.

I found that I had to create my own config file, to do this:

[in the zte mobile connection program]

    1. Click on "settings" - the cogs icon
    2. Click Add
    3. Set Config Filename to a name which doesnt exist e.g. foxyloxy
    4. Set dial number to be *99#
    5. Ensure the following are selected:
    . Obtain APN address automatically
. Obtain DNS server address automatically
    . Obtain PDP address automatically
    6. PDP type should be: IP
    7. Authentication mode should be: PAP
    8. Click OK
    9. Click Set default to be the Config Filename you chose e.g. foxyloxy

    Try connecting again.
  • Hi,

You may want to check the firmware of the USB dongle that you have as it is possible you need to upgrade (flash) the firmware to a version that is compatible with vista. Alternatively a quick google shows you are not alone in experiencing problems with this particular piece of hardware - this may be of use/interest to you: http://www.easypeasy.com/guides/article.php?article=275.

I'm no expert but in my experience using mainstream packages will be a problem with Linux , i have just bought an Asus mini laptop and there was no way of getting Nokia PC suite to work with linux so am currently having to install Windows XP.
A post on the PC help threads might help too.
