Question about duel fuel with BG

Hi,

I got my electricity bill today from british and seems im on click energy 3 now i looked on the comparison sites over last few days (i KNOW now is not the time to switch but as posted in another thread im expecting a HUGE gas bill based on my recent reading and was curious at the competitions prices)

I was wondering if you have to be on the SAME tariff to benefit from dual fuel discount? I.e. if i was i swap to click 4 energy for my gas, but stay on click energy 3 for my electric would i lose my dual fuel discount?

Just my electric seems cheaper on my current tariff but my gas is more expensive. So id like to mix and match tariffs within BG for now then re-assess the situation of having BG as my supplier when martin says to switch

(probably would have had my next bill by then too so will have a whole years consumption figures for a more accurate comparison)

    Good question.

I doubt if it is covered in any of the T & Cs; and if you ring the call centre, an operator will probably guess the answer.

I doubt the BG computer system is sophisticated enough to tell the difference, if you get gas and electricity - you are on dual fuel!

    Perhaps an email to BG?

    P.S.
There is something in the subject term(in the title of this thread) that makes it the commonest spelling mistake on MSE - together with 'meter' and 'metre' ;) - I am always typing it incorrectly.

Most people seem to have a fight with BG so perhaps the OP did spell it correctly.:rotfl:

The only reason you wouldn't get the discount is if your electricity meter is prepayment (gas can be PP). Any other combination is fine.
If you think you should be getting it and you're not, let them know and they can fix it and backdate it.
