Hi,
this is my first post in the Forums!!
Just thought I would post a tip for saving money on hiring holiday cottages in europe.
We often visit the South of France and like a lot of people book a self catering Gite to stay in. We found that if you book through the local tourist boards you can save loads. One property in our french tourist board brochure was also in an english brochure that my freind had. for the same week the cost booking in England was twice the price of booking via France!
I have been applying the same process to other countries such as Italy, and have found that there are definately savings to be made booking with the locals!

it helps if you speak French, but Babelfish does a good translation. you can book online, but next years brochure does not come out until end of December so it only shows up till then. I am still working on the best for Italy, and would like to find one for Austria so if you have any luck let me know!0
