My mother recently tried to sell several very good quality fur coats but found no takers. There's very little demand nowadays. Oddly enough, she was advised to give them to an animal sanctuary as the smell and warmth make them very popular with the residents!"Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

I'm veggie and don't wear fur, but was given an old fur coat by someone who didn't want it, so our old dog had it and loved it..0 -
In the recent cold weather here, a lot of vintage fur coats appeared from wardrobes or attics...! When I had to travel, I had an old fur coat in the car (Edwardian, hence about 100 years old, given to my granny by her employer in the 1940s) - if the car had broken down or I'd ended up in a snowdrift it would be much warmer than a blanket!
And my old cat spent a happy cold snap sleeping on an old, worn fur jacket I'd picked up in a charity shop.0
