...Going to paris next weekend with my wife, and another couple. The other wife is a vegetarian, the rest of us are confirmed carnivores.
Anyone know any good places to eat that do a reasonable range of vegetarian food as well as meat?
(quite fancy trying steak tartare myself!)

Alcazar Restaurant is on my list to visit next time in Paris. I've never been but read many great reviews in this forum. The sample menus on the website do indicate that Vegetarians are catered for.
Enjoy the meal but do resist the steak tartare !!0 -
Can't recommend anything but Gordon Ramsay did a great "Ramsays kitchen nightmares" from there when they were trying to make a veggie restaurant work. He wasn't keen. You see the problem with France is that it's full of French people!
Great programme.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -

Yeah the woman who owned it (using Daddy's money) was a right lazy cow and she closed it down soon after Gordon left (but before he revisited a month later)......0 -

All I can say is :eek:The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
When I went to Paris many years ago, there was sod all for veggies to eat, apart from pizzas n chips:eek: .Hopefully it might have moved into the 21st century by now though.Enjoy your trip:beer:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I know this doesn't help much but I say the Gordon Ramsay programme too and I got the impression that this was the only vegetarian restaurant in Paris. Probably an exaggeration tho...0

I'm veggie too, and Paris is no fun!
However, I do as I always do when abroad and look for an Italian or Indian, they always have a good selection of veggie food.
For lunch I try to look for a self serve salad bar or, more usually, a cheese sandwich in some of their lovely bread!
Bon voyage!Filiss0 -
Yeah - the French don't understand why anyone would want to avoid meat, but there's always something on the menu (just check before you go in). As long as your veggie friends aren't fussy, they'll be fine :beer:Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0

I last went 2 months ago, and it seemed a lot harder finding veggie food this time round, funnily enough.
There is a great Lebanese place called Sannine at 32, Rue de Faubour Montmartre (Metro Cadet,Peletier or Grands Boulevards). They have a lovely veggie set meal. There's also a restaurant in Rue Mouffetard in the 5th, I think it's called New York Cafe, they do pizzas and pastas for a great price, and the choc mousse is fabulous ...
Top tip - keep an eye out as you are doing the tourist thing, and if you see anywhere suitable, make a note of the name and address. Also never wait until you're hungry to start looking.0
