FLYGLOBESPAN: anyone know what's going on now???

Flyglobespan, the holiday airline with the worst punctuality record in the UK and a reputation for customer service that makes even British Gas look good, seems to taken a most unusual step for an international carrier. According to this (usually) well-informed source:

Which means -- as happened last October -- one-stop direct transatlantic flights are out of the question where Flyglobespan is concerned.
This time, according to that source, the airline decided just two days ago, without intervention by the CAA, to suspend its own ETOPs.
But I can't trace any other info about this.
We have friends who have booked to travel with Globespan to Orlando in the near future. They booked on the basis of a standard, non-stop Glasgow-Orlando flight. Not a flight which keeps being interrupted every so often because the aircraft has to land in order to comply with safety requirements.
