What I need to vent about is that a typical post on this site goes something like these ...
(a) The other week I unavoidably went overdrawn. The bank had the cheek to charge me £35. What a rip-off! I think this is disgraceful!!! How can I get it back?
... or ...
(b) I didn't pay my credit card bill on time and they charged me a late payment fee and withdrew my promotional terms! How can they do that?!! It's sooooo unfair!
... or ...
(c) How long does it take to transfer money into XYZ internet savings account?
... or ...
(d) ABC company have charged me extra this month? Why oh why oh why?
... etc, etc, etc.
Will you people please (a,b) shut up whinging and organise your finances better; (c) RTFW (read the f-ing website); (d) phone and ask.
Thank you.

My vent is along similar lines but slightly different, I have been round my Mum's house today, my younger brother has been charged more than 4 x £25 in unauthorised overdraft fees in the past 30 days and won't even open the letters (I opened two of them this weekend that had been sitting there for ten days).
Apparently this is a monthly occurrance! He knows that the letters are from the bank and essentially what they say, but refuses to deal with it. I know that I'm going to have to sort this out with him....(what MSE'er would be able to let this slide), but I'm bricking myself for the 'it's none of your business' conversation. And before anyone replies stating that it is none of my business......you don't know my brother. He needs a rocket up the preverbial and as a caring family, we've always been there for each other.
What is it with some people ? He has no real responsibilities, works full time, he just can't be bothered to sort it out head on."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

I know where your coming from but your not doing him any favours ,while you keep doing the 'caring ' bit he is never gonna be 'bothered'............catch 22 isn't it really:)0 -

rofl!!
No.....I doubt we'll see him here. :rotfl:
I can always hope though.
And Traf, you are completely right, I think that I'm just trying to help out for my Mum's sanity really as she worries so much!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

He sounds like my brother. I fully sympathise. He sponged off my parents for ages - living at home, earning a decent wage and not giving my mum rent/housekeeping. And then he runs up debts that he could have avoided because his disposable income is £350 more than mine a month (cos I pay bills!).
