Mosaic Tile Fixing

Are hessian-backed small mosaic tiles easy to fix, or are there any special problems to beware of?

Easy to fix, 'cos you only need to trim them around edges, sockets & no need for tile cutter!

You should buy one of those tile 'pushers' - the things about 3inchesx6inches, plastic, with a rubber face, that you push onto the tiles to lay them flat. Near the tile cutters & accesories in B&Q etc.

Beware of applying a thick layer of adhesive, 'cos it squishes out & it takes longer to clean the tiny tiles, compared to big ones!!

Grouting takes longer, too & it's fiddly, so not done in a hurry!

    I like them !!

    Vansboy,
One more thing. Is any special technique needed when joining 2 sheets of mosaic together? I was thinking of a possible spacing/alignment problem with such small tiles.

No real need for tile spacers, as they don't slip about as much as ordinary larger tiles , but you could put a couple in between if you wanted.
