TV Interference

Hi, my TV has developed some kind of interference over the last couple of days.

It is a 32" Beko LCD TV.

It has two strips of interference that move up the screen both are about 10cm high and go the full length of the screen.

I have changed the scarts and the problem is still there.. I've also unplugged/plugged in all the cables to make sure they are seated correctly.
Is this due to the weather? If so will it sort itself out?

Any tips or advice?

*The tv is using Sky and has no terrestrial aerial plugged in.
I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!

Can you plug an aerial in just to get ANY sort of picture ? You need to determine what is at fault, the TV or the Sky setup. Are the lines still there if you plug a DVD player in ? If the lines disappear when anything else is plugged in then it's the Sky box, but if the lines persist whatever is plugged in, then it's the TV, faulty smoothing on the mains power supply.

I unforunately can't check with an aerial. The area I live in gets a poor signal anyway so it wouldn't be a fair test.

I have however tried a dvd and the fault is still there..

Has anyone used the Beko guarantee before?

Can you give any information on what the interference is? Is it another channel, noise, picture distortion?

Do you know what kind of SCART cable you are using ( are the wires individually screened?)

You could try pulling pin 19 (video out)from the scart cable (TV end) if you aren't using an individually screened cable to see if that fixes your problem
cannot get this url to appear right - argh!

If the fault is still there when you use a DVD player, then I'm sorry but it looks like the TV. Have a word with the Beko help-line, perhaps it's still under waranty ?

I've no idea what scart I have just the norm, looks no different to any other I've ever had.

The interfrence/problem is a scrambled line about 10cm thick running the length of the screen (it the slowly moves up the screen, like when you see the refresh when a TV is recorded by a camcorder).

The scrambled part shows the correct picture just well.. scrambled and wavy.
