January marks the launch of a new hard-hitting Fire Kills campaign called, 'Pull your finger out', supported by Ei Electronics, UK Market Leader in domestic smoke alarms.
Statistics show that, in England, 80 per cent of people own smoke alarms - but one in every three alarms does not have a working battery.
Without a working alarm you are twice as likely to die in a fire, which is why the Fire Kills campaign is urging people to take a few moments to test their smoke alarms weekly.
Ei Electronics offer a full range of smoke alarms, which include the standard Ei100B, the innovative Ei100L with built-in light, the Ei100TY ten-year smoke alarm, the modern and chic Ei100BC chrome-effect smoke alarm and the new and exciting, RF Wireless Interconnect System.
So while your waiting for the kettle to boil, channel-hopping in the commercial break or simply waiting for the ping of the microwave, use those spare vital minutes to check the batteries in your smoke alarm. Those few spare minutes could prevent years of misery.
We have 15 smoke alarms up for grabs. To enter, just answer one simple question...
Which EastEnders character is most famous for her chain-smoking?
Answer: Dot Branning
Good Luck
