Credit card fraud - report or not?

Hi all. this isn't credit card fraud in the classic sense of the word.
I used my own credit card to buy some goods on-line but it turned out it was a fraudulent company and hence the goods never turned up and the company in question never responded to weeks of contact.attempt.
I'm just wondering where i stand with this. Is there any way at all i could try and claim my money back? If so how do i go about doing this?
Should i cancel my credit card as my number is now 'out there somewhere'.
At the least i should report this to someone shouldn't i? But who?
If it makes any difference at all the transaction went through Worldpay
Thanks in advance.

If the goods haven't turned up then your credit card company is liable under the terms of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (revised), if the transcation was greater then £100.
If not greater than £100, the chances are your card company would still reimburse you as I have been reimbursed for a defective product costing less than £100 using the Act.
Contact your card company and 'dispute' the payment. The amount will then be set aside so as not to accrue any interest charges. They are bound by law to do this. They may possibly ask you to put it in writing and provide evidence of to support your claim.0 -
It was less than £100 (which is something i suppose).
What do you mean by 'dispute'? Do you mean claim i no nothing about it?Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
I mean that all credit card companies have departments which deal with matters of this nature. Many are known as the disputes department and they will be fully aware of what to do in situations like this, though first of all you will have to get past the regular c/s agents as some of them wouldn't even understand anything about the CCA and your right to dispute it.0

Even getting a response from someone who can speak English properly is proving difficult at the present time.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0
