I installed some free antivirus and spyware, but now my IE doesn't seem to open, until about 2-3 mins after i click on the icon. Firefox is ok. Anyone know how to fix?

You'll probably get more useful comments if you say which anti-virus and which spyware you installed.
In general, it's not good to install spyware, and you also have to be careful which anti-spyware software you use, as some are just spyware in disguise.0 -
Thanks. I have the AVG free edition and also zonealarm (freebie). My webroot spysweeper and Mcafee antivirus (which I was paying for) have both expired and I opted not to renew and just downloaded the others instead.0

I'm not familiar with either Spysweeper or Mcafee, but I do know that with other antivirus - such as Norton - you get some really odd problems if you don't uninstall them fully before installing a replacement.
I'd check the FAQ sections for both Webroot and Mcafee to see if there are any specific procedures or tools. If in doubt I would temporarily uninstall AVG & Zonealarm, remove any trace of their predecessors and then reinstall.0
