Mixing software

After tolerating the usual bad music mixes at various get togethers over Christmas, I want to look into mixing software, that can match the beats of two tracks, and sync them together, so I can create a number of mixes for different occasions.
Anyone used any software for this? and can recommend something that doesn't have a horrendous learning curve.

Audacity is an open source editing and recording program
There is a youtube tutorial to give you a basic idea of what you can do0 -
Look out for OTSAV (www.otsav.com) Audacity is only a waveform editing tool, it won't mix songs together (unless you do it manually with copy/paste mix).0

You'll need to look for Segue mixing software, on the Mac there are several, including the excellent DJ software MegaSeg: http://www.megaseg.com/ no doubt loads for the PC too.
Logic Audio and ProTools are bound to have countless plug-ins to enable smooth mixing too.0 -
FL Studio (formerly: fruity loops)
Read the thread for alternatives and a working url for 'fruity loops'\'fl studio': http://www.oldversion.com/talk/showthread.php?t=2198&page=2

There was also 'numark cue' but I can't find a working link not associated with a warez site for it anymore, so I assume it's gone commercial. Unless anyone else can find one?
HTH and good luck with your mixing. It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
