The same happened to me at Manchester Market St store.

Manager told staff to over ride the tills for us but no one else.

  • Ok - who was the lady shopping with her mum and daughter in the Trafford Centre this evening. We had a chat and you said you were going to try and get them to honour the 75% discount. Were you successful? I am going to go tomorrow - quite well stocked. The Boots at the retail park in Urmston had a fairly dismal collection of stuff though.

How can you complain if the store doesn't have the prices marked up as 75% off. It's cheeky and quite frankly disgusting to force Boots to give you something for less than they are advertising it, until they back down and give you it for that price - it's no different to stealing. The fact it *needs* to be overrided on the till shows that you should not be getting the goods for those prices, and the managers only did the reductions to shut you up. If you don't want the goods for the price indicated don't buy - it's a simple purchase decision. If I was the manager I'd tell you first when I thought the goods would be cheaper if I knew, and if you persisted I would in no uncertain terms to get lost and get the security guards on you if you persisted yet further.

If the 75% sale should have started tomorrow, see what they have that you want, go home, and go back tomorrow as early as possible.
  • i was going to write a long reply to that message but i don't think i'll bother.
btw - the difference between what we did and stealing is...... we paid).
