I'm looking to purchase a cruise from Royal Carribean. Is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to book from an American website & pay the dollar price? Thnx

I looked into doing this a while back, we were wanting to book a cruise out of Florida. I think the main problem was booking the cruise/flight package, with the flight originating in the UK.
Is the Mariner one that sails out of the UK or Europe?
I was not overly impressed with Royal Carribean cruises (Brilliance & Enchantment of the Seas i think), I felt the ships were too big and the services hit & miss or downright couldn't be bothered, even the food was at times unapetising, and i promise you i am not fussy.
Celebrity who i think are part of the Royal Carribean group were much better all round. We also had a great cruise round the Carribean with Fred Olsen even though we were youngster compared to the majority of the passingers i would love to do that one again.0 -
I've done a number of cruises with RC and have enjoyed them all, although I would agree that Celebrity are usually my first choice. I am cruising again with RC in July, to Alaska, and chose not to go with Celebrity because the ship they used last year had some problems and so they cancelled a few of the Alaskan cruises. I always book through the UK site but would not if I was actually going to be in the USA and the cruise was out of, say, Miami. Then I would try to book on the US site and just make sure that I spent a few nights in the port of departure so that there was no chance of missing the ship, or indeed to give my luggage time to catch up with me if it did not arrive with me on my flight!
For my Alaskan cruise, I have booked the cruise only and arranged my own flights to Vancouver. I will spend a few nights there before embarking. A possible problem would be if the cruise was cancelled, then if I had booked it all through RC I would be refunded and could do something else. The way I have done it would mean that I still have to go to Vancouver.0 -
I've been with RC (Splendour of the Seas) before & really liked it. I only wanted to book the cruise & then book a flight with Easyjet or something0

try booking the cruise and flight seperately, i booked my flights online with first choice and the cruise through cruises.com, you have to ring cruises.com because the website only caters for us citizens ~30 mins of a call but make sure you double check all details you give, phone call only cost a few pounds which was quite surprising.elvis_girl wrote: »I'm looking to purchase a cruise from Royal Carribean. we also booked 2 1 way rentals between sanford-miami and miami-sanford with alamo, they had a free shuttle service from the hire place to the cruise terminal and back again.0 -
Thanks for that. Anyone know of any other websites where I might be able to do this? Even though its Royal Carribbean the cruise is round the med if that makes any difference0

edit: you will have to register an email address with them but only takes a moment.0 -
Here's another to add to your list - www.bestpricecruises.com. I can confirm we have used them and everything simple and straightforward. Sally0

We cruise a lot and I use www.cruisecompete.com you enter the details of the cruise you want and different agents offer their 'best price' and sometimes onboard credits etc.
As an example we are paying £ 300 cruise only for a cruise in May and flights have cost £ 110 and have seen same cruise advertised at the weekend including flights for £ 879 a person0
